I only learned about Dane's work 2 or 3 years ago, but I have been following the issue for much longer. I admire his dedication, and his ability to survive on YouTube. I also realize that there may be things he is not saying, or otherwise diverting attention away from. That's the way things work in our "information age". But when he makes a statement, he offers substantial evidence. That is not so much the case for some of his detractors.
I think it is important to raise awareness of these matters, but I don't think that raising awareness this way is the solution to the problem. I used to make jokes that I could 'smell" the weather coming because of my Navajo heritage. Some believed me and darn, if I wasn't spot on many times.
