As a layperson, this “shop talk” is Greek to me. So I’ve asked a friend, who runs a well-regarded microbiology lab, to offer his opinions on the paper.
But what strikes me as most concerning is that limits were exceeded by two orders of magnitude. If the subject matter involves the potential of reproduction of a potentially dangerous protein in the human body, then it’s time for us to sit up straight in our seats and pay attention.
