I live in Canada and this trucker convoy is the first large protest event in this country that I have ever seen since this whole covid fiasco started. Am so grateful that our American truckers are coming on board. There are no borders anymore. Our whole continent needs to come together to protest these mandates. Forget politics. We need to unite as a people from all walks of life and demand our freedoms back. Keep on trucking.
It’s really stunning how the counter culture of the 60s has people like Young angry that we do not follow the government narrative. Talk about a 180 or was it that they never advocated free speech? Maybe they only wanted their opinion expressed.

I have to say that I think you either misunderstand Neil Young's view - to a point. Of course he has no right to say who should / should not have a voice. But I think he is more misguided than not believing in freedom. He clearly feels passionate that everyone should follow what he is convinced is the right path. I would imagine that if anyone could convince him that what he has been told is not true, he would support Joe Rogan in an instance. I think his views come from trying to protect others.
Regardless, he is missing the point - as you say - that you shouldn't be able to stop anyone having free speech, and to put forward an alternative view.
I've seen the same thing with British tennis player - Andy Murray. He is telling everyone to get vaccinated. I think he has no right to do so, but when I consider that he genuinely believes it is the right thing to do, I would probably do the same thing. Knowing what I know now, if I were Neil Young and Andy Murray, I would like to think I would be brave enough to go against the narrative and say what I think others should do.
They just don't realise or know that what they're being told isn't true.
So don't be so hard on him. And I think we all need to show a bit more humility with our 'opponents'. The main aim here is to get through this, and get things back to normal. Sure, if someone is deceitful, they need to be put on trial at some point. But it is not our role to be inciting hatered against those we believe to be wrong. If anyone has / should be trialed, that will hopefully come at some other time, through some other mechanisms.

After being trampled by the herd and government for 2 years while being treated like a tiny group of lepers within an ocean of entitled righteousness - BOOM, here we all are for real. The truckers gave us the spine to rise, and the collective abuse and suffering is shockingly written onto all of these faces emerging, cheering, crying, praying and raising their voices. Hundreds of thousands of people psychologically traumatized, intentionally, by the mainstream media and our government. And here these psychopaths are, claiming we are threatening THEM, calling us Terrorists, the new hit-piece of their psychological warfare, threatening to pirate our honorable campaign funds. The cork has been unlodged from the bottle and hit the sparkling cold Canadian winter air. We have found each other. They will never confine us again. We are here, emerged from a long hibernation, with spirits intact. They are damn right we are infectious, and we have what they will never own. The spirit is spreading around the world, the most infectious ‘virus’ ever to be unleashed. Thank you truckers, welcome soulmates, it is a great day to be human again! I now want to - not walk or trot. I want to run, break down their rusty bondages and set myself and my world truly free and explore the human potential unencumbered from the evil paradigms. At this point there are only a handful of rockers who are awake to what’s going on. Eric Clapton was vaccine injured and spoke out - he was then viciously attacked by the media and other musicians who are obviously compromised. Just sickening to watch. And of course Van Morrison a man wise beyond words who has been battling the Northern Irish government in order to help struggling musicians who rely on live gigs to make ends meet. The media can spout off all the want but he doesn’t give a shit. He’s Van the Man.
US citizens may not understand the video's reference to Castro as a name for the current soy-boy PM of Canada. They need to do an Internet search for a photo of young Fidel Castro, the now-dead dictator who destroyed Cuba, and put it beside a photo of Maggie Trudeau's kid. Did someone mix kids up at the neonatal department of some hospital way back then?
