Thanks for taking out the trash, Jess. It's a thankless job ;-)

Gwyneth's avatar

Anyone who writes that poorly, should be taken to the trash.

My thoughts, exactly!

Trolls sometimes get assigned to high-value-targets. They are generally human/bot composites.

I like your answer and suspect you are correct.

"Not a good luck" LOL

I was gonna say some pretty unimpressive communication skills at best. I could never really get the gist of what the heck he was even saying. Probably he's just smarter than me I am sure...

MonicaM's avatar

English does appear to be his second language.

All I can think right now is that with the massive amount of hacking and backstabbing going on, is that there is a full on push to discredit those that have been trying to wake people up to the potential harms from these injections and to the full on assault of individual rights and freedoms. The ones that are pushing these are in full on attack mode which means that people are waking up! Keep doing what you are doing Jessica! Your expertise stretches my brain much of the time- and that’s a good thing!

Either that or he is just a moron.

The opposite of a less-on is a mor-on :~)

Transcription software also at play. Luck and look, and a few other skews. And the taunt! Very funny.

JudyC's avatar

Even AI trolls do a better job of communicating!

His comments became obvious that the goal was to flood the thread using provocation and insults, to get everyone off the topic at hand, and respond instead to provocation and insults.

There seems to be a concerted effort underway to derail true scientific enquiry on Substack.

I don't generally subscribe to blocking or banning either Jess, but suspect if it's only a 24hr ban, he'll be back to derail every thread. Make it permanent.

I suggest a distant 10th.....

Seems to me that it should be "not a good look." There are a lot of speakers of English who learn idioms incorrectly. The same is true of the later expression "in mass," which presumably should be "en masse," borrowed from Latin. A lot of people are not "detail oriented" and do not pick up these details.

Lee HammMX's avatar

I once used the phrase 'ad feminam' after an attack like this on a woman and someone tried to Latin-splain me. But you're right: idioms are often a problem for language learners! 'En masse' is from French, though, no?

Thomas J. Piccone's avatar

I am sure that you are correct. I have never learned either Latin or French, but (possibly expecting a flame war for saying this) French is largely "borrowed" from Latin also!

Marie Therese Duggan's avatar

The “Romance” languages. You are correct of course Thomas.

Pelicanus's avatar

Monica, you" forgot "on mass" :)

You're a nice gal and I get the feeling these type of people can really weigh heavy in your mind. It's a good sign that you are a target because no doubt, there are hired trolls sent to mess with people like you.

We are winning and they can all fuck off.

Mic's avatar

I love the you humans reference. I was so worried that we ( you and me ) were not really humans

SheThinksLiberty's avatar

😂😂😂 Thank you, Mic, for the LOL.

Rick (from Texas)'s avatar

Sounds like a poorly educated AI version (Ivy league AI maybe? 🤔) wrote that note…🤣

Thomas J. Piccone's avatar

Perhaps a "poorly educated" AI could write it, but any competently trained AI should not make elementary English mistakes. AI is noted for producing entirely "correct" but rather bland sentences and paragraphs (apart from "hallucinations" in which content is simply invented).

when i was injured by the vx and then attacked for talking about it on twitter i decided to make replies to my posts “follower-only,” and i do that to protect those who want to have a real discussion. those who’ve also been hurt/bereaved deserve the space to speak w/o harassment.

it felt antithetical to my dedication to “free debate” but there is no free debate with pharma/darpa trolls and “software that mimics personas” nipping at our heels.

“software that mimics personas” is very much a thing. just search this for that phrase and you’ll get the gist of what i know personally: https://www.brookhines.com/p/neoliberals-glamping-in-death-valley

Love great storytelling & your desert trip retreat take here on the promoted use of celebs/influencers to sell prog-political party lines (in place of facts/experts) is priceless. The crazed neo-lib Dims controlling/surveilling all of you themselves (NO cells) while hiding from the Kremlin! was classic political parody/paranoia gone wild. ;-)

And mention of using the bogus Russiagate/Steele Dossier psyop to convince participants to go along with group-think is also classic. We're all on the same page, right? No doubters here.

.

Well... mebbe they shoulda discussed/work-shopped around the topic of the big bad US UNI-Party of craven & synchophantic "law-makers" in cahoots with the trillion dollar farma industry. ALL of whom go along with farma to legislate against us in order to drug us/inject our kids w/newly developed synthetic additives/petro/chemicals/toxins for invented conditions & diseases. :/

There's NO drug stone left un-turned in "Rockefeller Medicine Men" world.. :/ Will they ever run out of newly identified "illnesses" in order to sell us product?? Problem, reaction, solution.

Something very wrong with that one, so thanks for dealing with it. Please be careful out there - lots of crazies running around.

I think there might actually be one of those around here somewhere.

I have both of them. They had too many hits for just one album.

If there is one here, it belonged to my Mom and Dad. I haven't gone through their records in yeeeears!

It is on my huge "To-do list."

Thank you for reminding us that this is just another attempt, AI or not, to silence the truth. A few weeks back I had to block a few of these commentors that had little to say except to infer that I was a bad person because the the pandemic caused so many deaths (how are these two statements even connected)?

PBinAB's avatar

Who the heck refers to us as "you humans". Is it an alien or just a dumb bot. 🤔

Lanceus's avatar

His letter reads much like the "chinglish" in Chinese-produced instruction manuals.

Perhaps he is operating from a CCP troll farm, if not from a three-letter-agency-funded "anti-disinformation" group.

Sez77's avatar

The comments, as compared to the posts, on the Will Thompson account sound like they're written by 2 different people (& in fact show an author named Aman Onerth).

Each post shows a 1yr date, yet 'like' activity is less than a week old.

Suspicious all round.

I was attacked on Facebook in the beginning of the pandemic by bots like that. Keep up the good fight. I’m taking a break from it all for a while.

This is how they do the controlled op---layer upon layer of confusion folded into genuine (not) concern. Pretending to look real (if also a little unhinged--bonus points for that). Shaming you for censorship (LOL) and threatening to report you. All the bells and whistles.

You've poked the bear and deployed the "team." Good job from the rest of us!
