It won't stop until the funding stops. It won't stop until universities say no and rehire their ethics professors and find new sources of funding.

It is often the case that a person involved in unethical evil activities will don a veneer of respectability, for example a mafia don supporting the church, and virtue signaling wearing a mask. Here we have highly "credentialed" academics-scientists" engaged in "scientific research" that would have made Dr. Mengele hesitate, hiding behind their morterboards, and Big- Pharma government grant money corrupted "scientific journals." On the other hand the "proles" are usually at least upfront about their failings, addictions etc. and admit what they are. Honesty is the beginning of repentance. Without it there is no hope. A person who admits his flaws is better than a person who thinks their good. There is than no room for self-improvement. No thanks, I'll take the lost, the forgotten, and the damned.

Yes Mam! We have to change this...!

"They called it Omi-S. Why not throw a greek ‘nu’ in there and call it ‘Omi-nuS’."

EXACTLY! I have been so angry/sick about this ever since first reading el gato malo's take on this paper a couple days ago. I hate to think about the secret "research" going on that we don't even know about. This type of "research" has to stop...

Jessica Rose's avatar

oh the kitty wrote it up too? i will read that next...

Thanks for the link. Somehow I missed this.

You should then read Alex Berenson's take, which angered me. But as a non-scientist, I couldn't formulate a good argument. Perhaps you could.

it will not be the likes of adolf, stalin or mao that will annihilate humanity, it will be the likes of pasteur...

It's an idolatry the ancients could only dream of. Who is like unto God?

Thank you Jessica.. for saying what I and many others I am sure have been thinking for a while now.. How can this continue??? Its got to be Maddddnesss..you are absolutely...right.. How is it we have arrived in our scientific community in this Demented state.?? When we have some of our more highly trained and supposedly rational minds committed to the MOST Irrational of purposes..? Wow we have to terminate this Gain of Function research permanently.. and make it a felony to fund it too..

HeldFast's avatar

Thank you, I love how we get to learn from all facets, Dr. Byram Bridle also wrote an article and addressed Alex B's wrong-headed faffing. https://viralimmunologist.substack.com/p/lab-in-boston-made-what-could-be?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2

Martha's avatar

"Even if questions arise that cannot be definitively answered in the absence of gain-of-function research, those would be questions that should be left unanswered."

Some questions should never be answered! 🎯

Thank you for sharing Dr. Byram Bridle's take on this research and his takedown of Alex Berenson's write-up about it...

Mark Leo's avatar

Alex Berenson has a Substack article titled “Urgent: Can We Please Not Freak Out About The Chimeric Omicron Experiment.” How close is the to the CDC shouting from the mountain top “vaccines are safe and effective?”

Jessica Rose's avatar

ah i see... i will read it. he's a virologist, right?

Mark Leo's avatar

Ex NYT journalist and author but, otherwise, a pretty good guy …

Gain of function = weaponizing = crimes against humanity.

Can you say psycho?

Nick Kottenstette's avatar

Isn’t this illegal? Or did Brandon lift Obama’s moratorium on this GOF research and is now allowing it in Level 3 labs to boot? What Senators and Congressmen are speaking out about this?

Jessica Rose's avatar

yes, i believe it's illegal and highly unethical

Susan G's avatar

And in a wimpy response (see Epoch Times today, sorry I can't find the link) they deny this was gain of function.

This Rockefeller-Gates insanity has been going on with the food supply for decades and discovery of CRISPR put it on steroids. Claims of precision tools for genetic modification w CRISPR actually means more precise than blasting w gene gun and hoping which was prior method.

While it's based in plant systems the lessons of unintended consequences applies, beyond their bio-weapons ambitions are cascade of unpredictable downstream consequences.

https://www.gmwatch.org/en/106-news/latest-news/19429-crispr-edited-rice-shows-wide-range-of-unintended-mutations

Martha's avatar

FTA: "The study confirms that the wide range of undesirable and unintended on-target and off-target mutations seen in gene-edited animal and human cells (see examples here) also occur in plants.

London-based molecular geneticist Dr Michael Antoniou commented, "Given these findings, the likelihood of unpredictable changes in multiple gene functions leading to altered biochemistry in gene-edited food plants, with consequent health risks (toxicity, allergenicity) is very real."

As for the hoped-for increased yield [in the modified rice], the opposite was found: Yield was reduced in the CRISPR-induced mutants, along with the desired reduction in plant height. Therefore, the researchers conclude that "the application of CRISPR/Cas9 for successful breeding" may be a "long way" off."

These researchers (and the people funding them) think they know what they are doing, but it's obvious they don't have a clue. Will this slow them down or stop them? Of course not, they'll do "better" next time. Just like the idiots creating the more infectious/lethal Omi-S, their hubris knows no bounds...

Riveredge's avatar

They are very proud of their accomplishment. WTF Atta-boys all around. I thought this kind of research was only allowed to be done by the CIA...way to go BU

Truthbird's avatar

I've no doubt the funding ultimately comes from the DoD, the so-called "Department of Defense," but really the Department of the Devil.

Marty Ellenbecker's avatar

Double check that. Fauci went to DARPA first for GOF funding. They told him no, your research is too dangerous and your safeguards too week.

Also, unless the military is treasonous or planning on closing down,

they would hopefully not be killing or disabling potential recruits.

Potatodots's avatar

Do you mean Daszak? His 2018 pitch to DARPA.

Marty Ellenbecker's avatar

Not sure. Don't recognize the name. The articles I read mentioned an Eco_____?____ company, but Fauci was involved either jointly or in the background.

Rick Fearn's avatar

Tragedy. So few in our society have sufficient knowledge to understand the implications of this research. Sad.

Mark Much's avatar

This insanity won't stop as long as Fauci keeps funding it.

My friend passed away October 8th. She had been diagnosed with ALS in February and told she likely had between 2 and 5 years to live. She had already had 2 shots in spring/summer of 21, and was advised she must get boosted in mid March of this year. She was boosted on Thursday and hospitalized by the following Monday becauseher legs stopped working. She spent 2 months in hospital - the last 2 weeks isolated because she tested positive for that thing that is going around.

In mid August she wound up in hospital again and it became quite apparent she was not even going into LTC. It was like her ALS was on WARP SPEED!!! She was diagnosed and dead within 8 months. She was expecting her first grandchild in April/23 and I promised to give the baby a kiss and tell him/her all about the grandmother this child never got to meet. SO VERY MUCH HEARTBREAK!!!!

Potatodots's avatar

OMG. I am so sorry. I grieve with thee!

I lost 2 of my decades long friends last year. Both very healthy, highly skilled. One was a PhD psychologist of the "old school," i.e., not captured by the $ in gender/trans Marxist Overthrow fad. In each of their cases, their kids came to them and said, Mom, we are worried, and we want to make sure you are protected. Let's all go as a family and get vaccinated." They were not going to get the jabs before their kids did this! And they both were dead inside of 24 hours of getting the first jab!

Am I missing something? Is not this work already banned at the highest national and international levels, such as Biological Weapons Convention and Nuremberg Code? Very strange, living in a world where "scientists" conduct studies that carry the death penalty and PUBLISH what they did. Pinch me, I must be having a nightmare.

Jurassic Park keeps popping up in my mind. Jeff Goldblum saying, "Life, uh, will find a way." Just because you can do something doesn't mean it is a good idea. Idiots.
