Born in '51 and also got the smallpox jabs before school started, probably a couple years after you did. Got a polio shot too. I had a classmate that got polio after his polio shot. lived on crutches and leg braces the rest of his life. I had the measles, mumps, chicken pox and tonsillitis (had my tonsils removed) all when i went to school. There actually was a "party" for all the neighborhood kids when measles broke out. The thinking was get everyone to get it at the same time and be done with it.
I also had childhood friends who were 7th Day Adventists. They did not believe in Vaccines and were the healthyist kids I knew.
