I work with overeducated engineers, scientists, mostly Trekkies, I'd assume. They all jumped on the covidian bandwagon. All I can think is, "Beam me up, Scotty."
I wrote the comment below on one of el gato Malo's articles, but I think it works here as well. How did Omicron arise in Southern Africa? How can it descend from a mid-2020 virus that we all thought was extinct? Why are so many of the mutations targeted to the spike in a geographical area with low vaxx rates? Why did so much of the world cut them off with very little data on virulence?
I read yesterday that SA had cancelled future orders of the jabs because they have little demand. Is someone or something trying to force their hand?

Thoughts to ponder:
Word on Science Street was that this virus was the most well adapted to infect myriad types of human cells through the ACE2 in the history of like ever. So well adapted, in fact, that it could no longer infect the bats from whence it (allegedly) came. Hmmm.
The "experts" came up with the magical mRNA spike formula for the jabs within hours (or weeks) of the mysterious release of the viral genome. Yay, Science!
In late summer/early fall 2020, mutations arise in the viral spike in very distant geographical locations nearly simultaneously giving rise to a host of new variants...while the rest of the viral proteins remained stable. Hmmm.
The Delta variant won the variant race. The "experts" were concerned that the jabs weren't as effective but somehow they never tweaked the mRNA formula to update the jabs/boosters. That was the selling point...right? They could update the software on their platform and act quickly and nimbly?
And, now, we have Omicron which does not descend from any of the other variants...with lots of mutations in the spike...in a country with very low vaxx rates and thus very low evolutionary pressure against the spike. Hmmm.

And, now, the US, UK, EU, and Israel have all closed their borders to South Africa and other countries...for a variant that may or may not be more transmissible but appears to be far less virulent. Hmmm.
If I were a conspiracy theorist, I might think something evil is afoot.
