what's a trapper keeper?

Expand full comment

Awwww. I’m sad you don’t know. Really showing how young you might be. Or maybe it’s the Canadian eh? Trapper Keeper was a very 80s 3-ring binder/ notebook / folder style set up to hold all your most important papers back in the day when we used pens, pencils and paper in school. Sigh. We did not have money alas. It WAS 80’s. I was in the third of the class that did NOT have one. My mom used to make my clothes. I was super excited when I finally got some clothes from Walmart. I try to keep these things in mind as I help those who may be in similar financial states but it’s good to remember humble things sometimes. Just googled it and by gosh they still sell them. Haha. Who knew. They look unattainable even now. 😂😂

I totally knew what a Trapper Keeper was, and although I didn't have one myself (made my own clothes--yes, I can still run a sewing machine), I would've stickered with Jessica's image if I did!

They still sell Caboodle’s too!!!

Oh gosh I am a late 70’s early 80’s teenager so caboodles was after my age of interest THANK GOD. It would have just been one more thing I didn’t have. I wasn’t a very girly pre/teenager though so who knows. Id have probably associated it with Barbie and snubbed it anyway. 😆

It is a plastic binder with cartoons or famous people printed on the cover, for kids, with folders and a flap that shut to hold in homework and sometimes pens and a ruler. I think I had a ruler and pencil case with holes that fit into mine in school. It was extremely popular in the 80s when introduced. My first one was a unicorn. 🤓

E.T. — great choice Jennie. Being a boy I had dumb stuff like Voltron.

It's a 3 ring binder but, styled with colors and graphics for kids. 80's American kids all know what they are. You kitted it out for what you needed. Ruled paper, graphing paper, plastic sleeves for notes you were studying, flash cards, pen, mechanical pencil, etc. The pockets were where you could stuff your field trip request forms, report cards, worksheets, and all of the paper based documents that kids used to carry around.

Props for having a trapper keeper.

LOVE! You are our hero Jessica!!! Forever grateful to you!

Never ordered from REDBUBBLE before but going to now.

Expand full comment

Good luck finding it. I looked and did a reverse image search. Nothing. If you come across it post it.

Try www.redbubble.com

When you get to that website type jessica in the search. At least that's all I did and it worked.

Would attach that as I'm looking at it right now but can't seem to make it work. They have posters and t-shirts, etc. with lots of heroes pictured.

If you can't get the site up I'm wondering if you are being blocked due to previous searches, orders, contacts, etc. Just a thought.

I’m on a VPN and zero search history. Not coming up. I’ll keep looking, thank you for the link. 🤗

Jessica, love your new decal. Suggestion: Send a note to JP. HE will certainly monetize your image and give you a cut, ask for 30% at least!

I have one of his hats: "I WILL NOT COMPLY."

Off Topic.

Dear Dr. Rose,

Igor Chudov today has a post which leads through Doorless Carp and HiddenComplexity Substacks to research on the Ba.5 spoke protein, which has a 63-fold higher affinity for ACE2 receptors than Wuhan spike. I thought with your interest in the RAS physiology you would find this useful.

Best regards,

R

That’s a fun sticker site!!! There are a bunch of covid hero ones! I want to plaster the back of my car with them. (I’ve never felt strongly enough about anything to sticker my car or get a tattoo until now.) Congratulations!

If Walensky is going to get the title CDC DIRECTOR

Congrats, you're famous. There-mus be a reason everyone loves 💕you :-)

Y'all might want to check the name/image trademark laws. Yeah, something else for you to worry about!

I'm no lawyer, don't play one on TV, and don't have an image of a lawyer on my Ther-mus. But here are two links 🔗 to give your neck some kinks 🐍 :

i don't mind any use of my image or name for benevolence. period. most laws i feel do not really make sense. if no one gets hurt, s'all goo.

I agree. But…remember those slippery slopes. One good person does something without your permission. Then lots of bad ones follow. Just looking out for you, my UnAcceptica HERO PhD.

How about Jessica surf boards, swim suits, conga drums, coffee mugs, t-shirts, and bobble-head dolls?

Jessica I think maybe a wetsuit and cape on a surfboard could be your image. Of course, the wetsuit is in place of a spandex jumpsuit. You are a hero to many around the world. I thank God for you.

Thank you for standing up and all the work you have put in!

I'm wondering if you have heard of the US government data base called CICP? Dr. David Martin brought it up on his Monday's Butterfly of the week (8/22/22). It was a part of the 1986 Act that gave liability to Big Pharma. I know you're great with numbers and this is supposed to be acurate, and if not,

mandated to Congressional review. This could negate their liability protection. Would you check this out? Here's his link to the show: https://youtu.be/aS2DFVbPuqo
