I once dreamed of being cybernetically-enhanced
NOT ANYMORE... a personal thank you from me to the responsible unintelligencia
In the past year or so, I have mentioned in two interviews that it was once my greatest ambition to become cybernetically enhanced. I imagined being impervious to physical damage due to ultra-rapid self-healing ability. I imagined being in such sync with my inner and outer worlds that disease and sickness did not exist for me. I imagined being strong and able, for as long as I wanted to be in this physical realm. I imagined being able to surf for a very long time into the ‘future’. I imagined having a self-controlled ‘off’ switch.
Not in some dreamworld created by power-hungry leaches, but in this reality. Whatever that means.
But not anymore.
I have learned so much in the past two years about how I actually feel about many things related to life, existence and purpose. It is not just the peer-reviewed process, or the FDA, or the CDC, that have been corrupted. Everything now appears to be, to some degree. At least in ‘the civilized world’ it does. The infectors of the benevolent spirit of man have their dirty hands and money deep in the trenches of the benches of science and technology.
This is a real point of anguish for me. All of the beautiful and exciting technologies and synergies found through discovery over the centuries seem to either get lost, forgotten or converted into something insignificant and meaningless like “smart” phones. This is where you can see my cynicism come out. Just as an example, seeing cars rolling on rubber tires on asphalt has always bothered for me some reason. It seems so: primitive, and inefficient, to me. I love cars - don’t get me wrong - especially old corvettes. I used to have an old Mercedes Benz. There was even a time when I actually did some mechanic-ing.
But, when I see cars rolling by, I have this feeling of ‘being out of time’. Sounds weird, eh? It just seems to me that in lieu of monopolizing, capitalizing and profiting from the gas or diesel-run car rolling around on something as repulsive as asphalt, we could have shifted our flow to another type of autonomous transportation device or machine: perhaps something that hovers that would not require these tarry roads, or perhaps something that transports matter. (I set the bar pretty high, as you can see.) I honestly believe that the human capacity is somewhat, infinite, even if the timeline here is finite.
But I digress.
The following words are my own and simply reflect my desire to understand the meaning of their words. Who are they? Read on. I will try to achieve understanding of their words by asking some questions and by asserting some opinions along the way. Ultimately, I agree with them 100% in that OPEN CONVERSATIONS ARE VITAL. However, I also strongly believe that the way to achieve an open conversation is not via censorship. Duh. Please read on.
I screenshot the entire webpage from a WTF (WEF) website so that you don’t have to go to their site. They write on a strange ‘vision’ for our futures on this page. I will simply post the screenshots in a sequence here with some Jessicisms, but first, I want to focus on the last page where you’ll find this quote:
Carrying around the equivalent of a dog’s nose in a gadget like your phone or a wearable like a necklace can be handy to sniff out COVID-19 or food allergens. In those cases, it is usually enough that your phone pings whenever you’re in the vicinity of whatever you’re guarding against. There is no immediate reason to implant this extra sense into your body. However, a deadly peanut allergy may justify a more permanent solution.
Let’s rip this apart, shall we? The equivalent of a dog’s nose? Their writers are clearly not refined with regard to their writing skills, in my opinion. I say this because of their diction, and their simile, where they claim a ‘gadget on your phone’ is like a dog’s nose. They do this, in my opinion, to ‘ease the audience’ by using a dog. The reader will likely conjure up a mental image of friendly, happy, furry little friend with his wet little nose. Dogs. Ahh, dogs. So joyful. Sweet and happy and free. Dogs! Running and playing wherever they may roam! Free to slobber and give friendship and love to us humans. It occurred to me that perhaps they might have actually been referring to some weird new tech that mimics the vomeronsal organ, without actually saying anything about that, but, er… no.
Doggy’s present is not your future, according to them.
The comparison with a the dog’s nose to a gadget in your phone is manipulative, beyond belief. Your dog’s nose is the outer part of the sensory system that includes the vomeronasal organ; aka Jacobson’s Organ, that allows your doggy an incredible sense of smell. The nose actually functions to warm the air for more efficient lung function. Whereas ‘humans have about five million olfactory receptors in their noses, dogs are said to have around 300 million’.1 Their noses are thought to be 1,000 times more sensitive than our noses! Woof!
This amazing sense of smell is a part of every doggy’s biology. B-I-O-L-O-G-Y. It is not to be compared to a ‘gadget’, an app or a ‘wearable necklace’. Not in my world anyway.
And what of the ‘wearable necklace’?
The wearable necklace imagery is more of the same manipulation. Necklaces are usually thought of as being a decoration loosely hung around the neck - something beautiful. An adornment, or perhaps an heirloom, that one chooses to wear as a way to emanate personal style and individuality and perhaps even pride.
A diseased-person-locating tracking device akin to Melkur’s choker, is not a necklace.
By the way, ‘whenever you’re in the vicinity of whatever you’re guarding against’, like uninjected people, your Melkur choker will ping, or perhaps tighten. It’s to keep you safe though, don’t worry.
There is no need for implants ‘immediately’! Great! I am so relieved. So, uh, how much time do I have between starting to sport my Melkur choker, and getting an implant? Can I get a custom-built armpit implant? My understanding here, is that the WTF mean to imply that implants will be subsequent to non-invasive chokers. Did I get that right? It would be the eventuality - once the app or the Melkur choker is fastened, right? Is that what you meant?
However, a deadly peanut allergy may justify a more permanent solution.
A more permanent solution? Where do I start with this? Permanent? Do I need to have a peanut allergy? What if I have an allergy to dictators? Will I have a choice in the type of permanent dog’s nose I get to choose? Like a pull-down menu? Can I get an Irish Wolfhound dog nose gadget?
Get your brain implant now and we’ll let you feed both of your children today! I am being a little bit litigious here, but this is not outside of the realm of their own written words and ‘visions’. Read the small print. And the Appendix. Always.
Solution? I always associate solutions with problems. What problem do we face here? COVID-19? It’s endemic. We have to live with it. Thanks for that, by the way. Or are they referring to the problem of locating ‘certain people’? The ones who chose not to be injected, for example? Or perhaps, the ‘content misrepresenters’?
Everyone should do this little thought experiment: imagine you were in charge of solving the problem of locating every single person on the planet who is currently not injected. For whatever purpose. How would you go about achieving this?
I would probably convince the people that the Irish Wolfhound puppy dog nose Melkur choker is great for them, and that it will lead them to great health and prosperity, and a fantastic magical green and Greta-filled utopia where 500,000,000 million can thrive. (Sorry, I had to.) In the meantime though, what it actually would be, is a tattle-tale device for self-entitled virtue signaling purposes. Oh dear, I got a little spitty there, didn’t I?
Maybe they should pen another book: “How to convince someone they are ‘saving the world’ when in fact, they are causing its downfall. 101.”
Here are the screenshots.
I agree with this. There is great potential - WITH ACTUAL RIGHT SUPPORT AND VISION.
Again, so manipulative. I am clearly not opposed to human enhancement as I have just now ‘exposed’. But referring to people’s own interpretations of what they are claiming as ‘disinformation’ or ‘misrepresentation’ is, well, manipulative. It taunts the idea that we can interpret, for ourselves, what the words mean and subsequently, what their vision for us actually is. And they do this without even considering the most important thing of all: WE ALL HAVE AN INALIENABLE RIGHT TO OUR OWN THOUGHTS, INTERPRETATIONS AND CHOICES.
You see? THIS grants OPEN CONVERSATIONS. Censorship of WTF-deemed ‘misinformation’, is not conducive to an open conversation.
Preying on people’s deep and wonderful desires to benefit from technology, that’s precious. ‘Add it to completely healthy individuals and such technology can augment’? So, is the implication here that the WTFs are less concerned with helping the ‘impaired’, and more concerned about enhancing the healthy? Help me out here.
No. No. Picture this scenario. A person who forgot the what a bar is because of lockdown dictates. That feeling of anxiety about re-entering the 'bar-scene', for some, does not go away quickly, even when the ‘restrictions’ do. And what of the bar owners who lost their bars to this stupid nightmare? I don't really go to bars much anyone but that's probably because I never liked crowds much and I am not playing on stage with my band anymore. And the fact that I'm 200 years old. I hope others are getting into the swing of the LIVE, human social network again in the bar setting, and I hope bar owners are starting to make some money again.
Oh and don’t forget the children. They’re going to need these gadgets, especially the ones who can’t pay attention during indoctrination. And isn’t it funny how they chose the word ‘cope’ to describe ‘an otherwise-enabled child's’ experience in the 'standard school environment'.
And, a chair?2 Ok.
Are we moving into a brave new world, guys? Man, that sounds awesome! A brave new world. Now that sounds brave. With gadgets and wingdings and whoosits galore.
Natural evolution? Well, I think implants of exogenous origin or explicit non-biological design disqualify them from being deemed ‘natural’. Technology that involves biological elements is referred to as ‘future technology’ according to Wikipedia, and comprises what Ray Kurzweil3 would refer to as the development, and perhaps evolution of, genetics, nanotechnology and robotics according to Moore's Law. Listen to what he says at 19:30. I have so much more to say about Ray's beliefs, but this will be the topic of an upcoming Substack article on aging.
Natural: Existing in or formed by nature4
You guys should rip this apart intellectually. In my opinion, the message on the WTF webpage is manipulative. It describes the foundation-laying of a world that sounds all great and looks all shiny at first glance, but would likely be hell on Earth for many beings.
It all boils down to choice.

Jessica thanks for the deep beauty of your work, self and being.
And for this particularly transcendent article.
