Update for my readers!
Some of your questions: answered.
Hi all! Well, I didn’t get that break - surprise, surprise. But I did learn a lot from your fabulous questions! It sent me on a journey of discovery, and I do love discovery.
In this article, I have written down some of your questions pertaining to this, and what it means to migrate to Unconditional Jessica, or hop-scotch between my Unacceptable Jessica and Unconditional Jessica newsletters. And of course, I have some answers. Go figure, right? Haha By the way, I have since unpaused billing for Unacceptable Jessica, and that means that things go back to normal with regard to billing cycle.
As I mentioned before and as most of you are likely aware, I started my new newsletter Unconditional Jessica; kind of like turning the page in a book: fresh blank page (which will always be unpaid). I will be maintaining Unacceptable Jessica and putting out content from here as well, just less frequently. It’s hard work to maintain these newsletters and to keep them entertaining and educational and up-to-date! :D
Here are some questions that you guys have been asking:
Does my paid subscription transfer to the new newsletter?
Nope. Unacceptable and Unconditional Jessica are entirely different entities. The former is a paid optional newsletter whereby if you can afford to and wish to ‘donate’, you can do so - but you never have to. The option to stay a free Unacceptable Jessica reader will always be there. As I have always upheld, I will never force my readers to pay to read my content. And since the content output rate will go down, I want to ensure that readers have the option to go free, if they want to. Be free, my pretties!
How do I stop auto-billing if I decide I can’t afford to stay paid?
So this is really easy peasy. Go to your Substack subscription settings here, and click ‘Cancel subscription’. What will happen is that at the end of your current billing cycle (the time frame from the date you subscribed to either a month or a year in the future - depending on whether you have a monthly or yearly subscription, respectively), you won’t be charged any more. Otherwise, since the default is auto-billing, you’ll remain an active paid subscriber. Please only remain an active paid subscriber if you feel you can afford it.
Will the content from Unacceptable be worth paying for?
Will the content from Unconditional be sheit?
You be the judge, but I will always put my heart and soul into every article I write because, well, that’s my default. :)
If you have any more questions, please leave a comment! I will slowly try to answer them all.
