And what's going on in Ontario?

This is just as weird as New Brunswick.

As far as I am concerned, this is clear and mounting evidence that many data sources are seriously flawed, compromised or intentionally being botched to obscure or de-mean data. And guess what? They shouldn’t be. They are DATA SOURCES. To me, that means something. You are my source of data! Stop being corrupt!

Yesterday I noticed that something was very strange in the death data for New Brunswick, Canada in 2022. A Substack subscriber of mine pointed out that something is strange about the Ontario data as well for this same time period. He claimed that perhaps the data for Ontario was mistakenly put into New Brunswick. So I checked it out.

It certainly looks possible that this idea might be true. You see how the lines go up in New Brunswick and down for Ontario? We can do a very simple calculation to find out. Let’s subtract the slopes between the weekly data points to see if the slopes cancel each other out when we add them together. First let’s calculate the slopes between the dates spanning November 13, 2021 through February 5, 2022. That would be 12 slopes. Now let’s plot them!

When you compare the absolute counts of death to the slopes or death rates per week for Ontario vs. New Brunswick, and then plot them, you get the following. Any point above the black line running through the y-axis at 0 is a positive slope and any point below, is a negative slope, meaning, that either the death rate is climbing or falling, respectively. If the trajectory between 2 points is flat, that means no sequential rate of change and therefore, it is likely that the data from one province was probably mistakenly put into another province.

Now, if the data from Ontario was simply mistakenly slipped into the New Brunswick data columns, then the orange and blue slope lines should cancel each other out. In other words, if you add the slopes together per interval and plot the results, you should get a straight line.

You get the following trajectory in red. This data is for all ages for simplicity and for the eyes. Too many lines are meaningless to most.

This is not a straight line, so the explanation of a simple data swap between provinces doesn’t hold water.

Something really strange is happening in the Statistics Canada database. Two specific examples I have found so far of strangeness can be seen in the New Brunswick death data and the Ontario death data.

The main problem I have with this is that none of us can draw proper conclusions. I hate to say it, but it seems after everything I have witnessed that this is by design. For example, I would love to say, ‘Hey! Look at the death count going down in Ontario!’. But if I did that, I would also by rights have to say, "‘Hey! Look at the insane rise in deaths in New Brunswick in 2022!’
