Alberta is lacking full-time qualified Paramedics
Maybe the ones who got fired for not being injected should be re-hired? Just a suggestion.
An article was published to the interweb from Global News today entitled “‘We’re on our knees’: Alberta EMS union says system on the verge of collapse”. It is about the current situation involving 911 call responses in Alberta. My opinion about what to believe usually comes down to the people on the ground. The people on the ground are speaking.
This means that people are making 911 calls - requiring medical assistance - and not getting it. Alberta Health Service say that ‘casual staff’ will fill the gap created when the paramedics were fired - the ones who preferred not be to be injected. It won’t, according to the ground folks.
The Union of Health-Care Experts claim that people are important when speaking of emergency responding. Hmm. Funny that. You mean, the equipment can’t go on its own?
It’s incredible to me that this is happening in Canada. Just incredible. Hashtag criminally insane bureacrats.
One more question. Who’s making all of the 911 calls? Is the call rate higher than it was for 2020? And 2021? I would love to know.
as a Canadian, I am intensely distressed, disturbed and frankly disgusted at what has happened here in the past 2 years. I never would have imagined I would feel this way about the country I was born in and have lived in my whole life. If there was any way for me to leave here I would but sadly I cannot. Thank you Dr Rose for all your hard work.
A friend's daughter was let go by AHS last fall - they apparently need her back (she is an LPN with more than a decades experience). So far she has not been rehired. Is this deliberate, incompetence, or evil? Or all 3?
